Gunite pools start at $70,000 and can be up to $750,000 for extensive waterslides, grottos, infinity edges, etc. In Stilwell, the average gunite pool is about $175,000. A gunite pools is a custom pool constructed with a concrete-like material called gunite as the shell. The gunite shell is then covered with a plaster. Stainless steel pools are the longest lasting, lowest maintenance pool option available of any pool construction method. You’ll never have to replaster, re-vinyl, or fix peeling fiberglass. Stainless also tolerates our expansive Stilwell clay soils the best. The only chemical needed in a stainless steel pool or spa is a special hydrogen peroxide. No chloride or bromine! Unfortunately, stainless steel pools are the highest investment of any pool option at up to 40% more than conventional gunite pools.

Legacy Method Pools by High Prairie are crafted to withstand Kansas City’s clay soils and polarizing weather. This means our gunite vessels have 30% more steel and 50% more foundation stability compared to the average pool company. In addition, we include various upgrades in our base price so that you’re not surprised later with a mountain of upcharges. To us, there are only two reasons a client should have an upcharge: 1. The client made a scope or design change 2. There was an unforeseen issue or engineering specification that needed to take place to ensure longevity. Otherwise, our proposals include the drainage, haul-off, coping, and many other details many companies leave out.

Stage 2: Planning & Mobilization – Precision Before Groundbreak

Stage 3: Active Construction – Next-Level Build
- Demo & Site Prep:
We begin setting up the site for production. Demolition, removal, haul-off, setting up construction zones, erosion control, safety markers, and all related construction prep. - Excavation & Drainage:
We excavate based on approved construction documents and integrate drainage plans into the dig plan. - Shell Construction:
Next, we craft the structural part of the pool. This can sometimes overlap with plumbing. - Plumbing & Electrical:
We install all drainlines, pump systems, equipment, final grounding protocols, and anything else related to hydraulic or electrical use. - Interior Finish & Cover:
If a cover is selected, we’ll complete the interior of the pool structure and install the cover if it’s an auto-cover. - Coping & Decking:
Coping and decking are completed to integrate seamlessly with drainage, electrical plans, and the surrounding master plan for your outdoor area.
