Think About Your Project Scope

When it comes to hiring a contractor or business to complete your landscape project, going with a business that has the experience is crucial to the success of the job. In most towns, you’ll need to meet their requirements for large carpentry projects, pergolas attached to homes, construction, patios, roofing, landscaping, hardscaping, and pools.

Whether or not you’ll need permits depends on where you’re located and the scope of your project. Your project scope can also impact whether or not local officials will need to be involved. Projects that could have an impact on the community may need more detailed plans and involvement.

Always Hire a Professional

To make sure your project goes as smoothly as possible and ends in success, one of the best things you can do is hire a licensed and insured professional, such as High Prairie Outdoors & Pools. We’re here to make sure your project is completed without the common issues that come with hiring subcontractors.

General Contractors

One of the many things we pride ourselves on is knowing that we are licensed general contractors and professional pool builders rather than subcontractors. This allows us to make sure your project is handled by a team of experts with the skills and equipment to get your landscaping and hardscaping done right.

In-House Architectural Consultants

In addition to licensed contractors, High Prairie Outdoors & Pools also has a team of in-house architectural consultants available to discuss any plans that need to be stamped with engineer approval. Being able to consult with industry experts shows you that we take your project seriously and will give it the attention it deserves.

Consider Fairway’s Permitting & Codes

Before any construction begins on your Fairway home, it’s crucial that all permits and other necessary paperwork are taken care of. The city of Fairway has its zoning regulations and code adherence that needs to be followed for any construction project, whether it’s a new outdoor kitchen or a patio. Hiring a professional general contractor will ensure those rules are met.

The consequences of failing to get the needed permits or sticking to codes can be problematic to deal with. For most situations, there will be a significant fine from the city that needs to be paid. In some situations, the entire structure may need to be removed. It’s important to look into the specifics of which permits are needed and what codes will need to be met. The good news is, if you’re hiring a professional such as High Prairie Outdoors & Pools, much of that legwork will be taken care of for you, leaving you to focus on designing the outdoor space you’ve always dreamed of.

Fairway Landscaping Design & Build FAQ

How much does landscaping in Fairway cost?

Landscapes can range from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. The range is largely dependent upon your design, size of plants used, and existing conditions. Most landscapes range from $6000 to over $50,000 for the planting. Estates can be over $50,000 for landscape planting. Front landscapes range from $6000 to $35,000. At High Prairie, our projects begin at $20,000.

How does High Prairie landscape differently?

A High Prairie Landscape is designed to get better over time while maximizing your family’s enjoyment outdoors. Our proprietary “Experience Driven Design Process” dives deep into the things that help your family relax, connect, and play in the outdoors. The resulting design forms the foundation of a landscape installed with lasting principals in mind: Soil nourishment, top-tier plants, and detailed features customized to your unique way of connecting with your loved ones.

Who installs your paver and stone patios?

High Prairie has several experienced stone masons on staff who build beautiful hardscapes every day. We only use trade partners for finished concrete or some veneer work with our stone masons are booked out. 98% of our stonework is done by our internal team. 100% of our stonework is managed to pass quality standards by our team.

When will my landscape fill in?

Your landscape will mature based on the size of plant installed, care received, and weather patterns after planting. On average, trees take 2-3 years to overcome transplant shock and begin growing, shrubs begin filling in by year 2-5, and perennials reach fullness by year three. A fully mature landscape may take 5-12 years depending upon the size of trees used.

How much maintenance will a new landscape require?

Your new landscape will require extra care during the first few years and your plants establish. Even with low maintenance plants, they need additional deep waterings, nutrient supplementation, and cultural practices to remove competing weeds or health concerns for the first few years.
